I’m Soumick.
I’m a journalist, sports lover, and the creator of Build Good Habits.
And since you’re here, I bet you want to create great habits that will take you a step closer to the life you’ve always dreamed of.
My Story
I started my career as a features producer for a major news channel in India. I quickly realised the hell-hole the Indian media industry was. But I stuck on and moved to another media outlet’s digital wing and onto a globally respected news wire.
It paid me well, I could buy things and had convinced myself that I’d made it.
I was wrong.
The job included rotational shifts. Which meant that my circadian rhythm changed every three weeks. And with this, I had already doomed my body to lifestyle problems.
I was determined to keep myself active. I trained in mixed martial arts and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I’d go hiking because I love spending time in nature.
But what I also loved was to drown my frustrations in alcohol and cigarettes. And no matter how hard I tried, I could not stop falling back into my vices.
It all changed one fateful night.

It was the last straw. I decided I will not relapse. With some determination, I identified my triggers, tweaked my current habits and also changed the people I hangout with. I even quit my job!
My Mission
Now, I’m not asking you to do exactly follow in my footsteps (don’t quit your job if you do not have a backup plan), but I discovered ways to sustain this, new, improved lifestyle.
